Important information about the library for Fall 2020
The library will reopen on August 17, 2020. The library will run on a reduced operating schedule due to limited on-ground staffing and the need to clean and disinfect daily.
Fall 2020 HOURS:
8:00 - 4:00
The most effective way to get help from the library from home is by emailing the library directly with your question(s):
The library will have a maximum capacity of 24 occupants. Patrons may be asked not to enter the library if the maximum occupancy has been reached.
CLOSURE OF CERTAIN AREAS OF THE LIBRARY:
The Book Stacks, Quiet Study Areas, Study Rooms, and Library Classroom (LRC 213) will all be off limits during the Fall 2020 semester. This is to reduce the potential spread of the virus and to reduce the amount of disinfecting and cleaning that will need to be done daily.
USE OF THE PRINT COLLECTION:
Physical library materials (books & DVDs) can still be checked out, but are currently off limits for any browsing. Library staff will be happy to retrieve any items you may need from the Book Stacks. Please ask at the Help Desk or email us with your requests.
STUDY AREAS & COMPUTERS:
All tables in the Open Study Area are available, with one person per table maximum. All computer stations have been spread out by at least 6 feet.
The Help Desk will only be able to serve students at one single location, where the plexiglass barrier is located. Please follow the floor markings to remain 6 feet apart while standing in line. Please ask to retrieve any printing at the plexiglass location, and not over the counter.
CLASS VISITS & LIBRARY INSTRUCTION:
Due to capacity limits, limited on-ground staffing, and the spacing requirements between computer stations, classes will not be able to visit the library during the Fall 2020 semester. All Library Instruction will be conducted online through Microsoft Teams, or in Blackboard through the use of self-guided tutorials and/or video conferencing tools such as Collaborate.
GUESTS IN THE LIBRARY:
Due to capacity limits, we ask that you please do not bring children or other guests into the library with you. Please try to limit library usage to one person per family.
24/7 ACCESS ONLINE:
Please remember that you can access the library's electronic collections 24/7 from home through our website. Again, if you need help, the fastest way to get in contact with us is through email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Good luck this semester!
